Air Purifier Ozone

Ozone is a powerful chemical element. Unlike oxygen (O2), ozone contains an extra oxygen molecule in its chemical composition. When air is exposed to high voltage electricity or high intensity ultra violet (UV) rays, ozone is produced. Ozone, when it comes in contact with any substance, attaches its extra oxygen molecule wherever possible. This chemical reaction can be utilized to disinfect and deodorize virtually any environment. An ozone UV air purifier is the best solution to the problem of odors and mold in Hydroponic indoor gardening applications.

Ozone generators of the past were originally designed for large, commercial application where high volume ozone production was required. These commercial systems were bulky, expensive and difficult to maintain. Hobbyists and small business operations needed products suited for the smaller size of their grow rooms. Now there is a UV ozone generator designed for the hobby grower. It is engineered to fit standard exhaust ducts and work well with the most popular fans.

These ozone generators come in 4 to 12 inch sizes and have multiple UV ozone bulbs. An ozone generator can be tested without fancy equipment; a simple “smell test” of the exhausted air will indicate the need for more or less ozone production. Control switches allow gardeners to adjust amounts of ozone as needed to accommodate the natural odor changes that occur as plants grow in Hydroponic indoor grow rooms. A UV ozone generator can effectively eliminate Hydroponic plant odors and mold in smaller indoor gardening applications such as one to two plants, up to a commercial size growing area.

The Ozone Generator in this system uses UV light ozone lamps to neutralize contaminated air. An ozone UV air purifier is designed to purify the air in a mixing chamber as it is exhausted from the grow space. The air is then exposed to high intensity ultra violet light. Polished stainless steel surfaces increase the intensity of the light. This UV ozone generator can be installed using an attic or 20-25′ lengths of ducting to create the mixing chamber for air purifing optimization. No more baffling systems to figure out. Unlike other systems such as a corona discharge unit which creates a by-product of nitric acid, these UV air purifier units do not need monthly maintenance. Wiping the UV bulbs and stainless surfaces is recommended after every growing cycle to keep them functioning at their best.

Hydroponic plant odor is mainly the result of bacteria in the air. Carbon filters alone cannot remove all bacteria from the air. Finding a 100% solution to Hydroponic plant odor and mold requires a UV air purifier ozone generator. In addition to removing Hydroponic plant odor, ozonators can repel spider mites and airborne pathogens that harm plants. Molds and mildews are killed by systems that are used properly, with regular short bursts of ozone into the grow room. Plants will be odor free and unharmed.

The combination of chemical reactions, correct use, and a proper mixing chamber and exhaust fan will make every ozone system effective for small to large Hydroponic grow rooms.
