I just finished doing a Google search on this subject. It seems that for every website or blog, or newsletter that preaches about the evils of the carpet in houses, you find an amount equal to the support carpeting flooring choice for allergy sufferers and asthmatics.

So who do you think?

I do not have these health problems. Ever. But I know lots of people do and they do everything to get rid these diseases and to feel better. Is ripping out the carpet the answer?

I'm in the cleaning business. And much of our activity is the carpet cleaning for homeowners. Thus, my opinion on this debate the most likely suspect would be considered as tainted, biased, and prejudiced.

But this I know for sure – only 12 out of 10 people clean their carpets … ever. Of these, approximately one third choose to do themselves. Vacuuming? Most people say they empty every week. What honest people tell me they have little chance of vacuuming carpets once a month.

Sales Marketing teaches that the choice of words is essential when selling. Thus, when describing the carpet in the home of a client we always use the word "unclean".

But you know what, I do not sell nothin 'gonna here, so I am to call it really is: Dirty, dirty, bacteria and dust mite infested carpet.

It comes down to two separate issues

The first is the question of maintenance.

How many people do not tolerate their flooring hard surface (tile, wood, etc.) including spills and food and dirt and grease everywhere … and then keep it that way for years!

Try imagine this scene: Every night, year after year, sitting in the lounge watching television. And you are surrounded by soil spat and blocks dirt, food and drinks … few who has been there since the Clinton administration?

YUCK! Well, you get the picture. People do not give their carpets very diligent maintenance that goes into maintaining hard surfaces clean. They will put up with the carpet stained and spotted for years. Is it any wonder that health issues are compounded by a carpet infested and unhealthy bacteria? This is not the fault of the carpet Poor's. It is simply routine maintenance.

How routine?

Vacuum twice a week with a void of quality that has high efficiency micro filtration bags. Micro-filtration bags, trap even the tiniest particles such as dust mites and their droppings, to prevent it from becoming airborne. Then have professionally cleaned at least once a year (preferably twice a year.) Each carpet manufacturer large recommends this same routine.

The question of the composition

Many people believe that since hard floor is … well, tough … a surface that is more hygienic because there is no place for dust to settle. And this is true. But if you are allergic or asthmatic This news is really bad.
