Can a vacuum cleaner like the mushroom or beetle shaped vacs clean chalkboard erasers?

We have a project and the deadline’s already on Monday. I don’t know what to do. I’m thinking of making a mechanical chalk duster by putting the mini-vacuum cleaner in some kind of a small box so that the eraser would be cleaned just by putting the eraser on top of the box. HELP PLEASE. (
