Something safe to use around pets, for ants?

I like to think i keep a fairly clean home, but we have ants taking over our cats food bowl and in the laundry hamper. They don’t mess with the garbage can or the kitchen at all, we just can’t seem to get rid of them. Does anyone know anything safe to use with my cat around that will still get rid of these pests?

Check outside and try to find where they are coming in, if you find it a little sevin dust outside will get rid of them.
