Using different leadership styles

What is the definition of Leadership? If we had 25 people write their definition on paper we have 25 different answers. One text book definition is: Leadership is the art of influencing a person or group of persons to obtain regularly remarkable results under favorable and unfavorable conditions similar.

Ok this is a very powerful definition with several words that really stick out: Art, Influence, invariably results, favorable or unfavorable. Which covers a vast territory in two sentences. What can I To make sure I'm strong leadership?

Understand your team's strengths and weaknesses of each individual is expected of any professional leader. Understand that not everyone reacts the same off leadership style is very important. An example may make it easier to understand my point.

Erick and Jeff have worked in the home theater department for over a year, I have a job which should be completed today. Recognizing the strength and weakness of both of them I will assign the same work to both using an approach different.

Jeff is a strong partner who is always on time and did a great job with customers. He has no desire being in a leadership position or be held responsible for someone else. He follows instructions well and can count on him to complete the tasks assigned. Jeff is how I assign a task. Hello Jeff, how are you today? Let's go alley television I want you to turn the TV off, get off the shelf and clean it with our cleaning business solution. We also need to clean off the shelves, then replace the TV in ensuring they are aligned with laser, on the same channel and the price tag is correct in TV. Have questions? Knowing my team helped me individually to achieve this leadership style to use. Jeff replied to the authoritarian leadership style whereas Erick answers a democratic style of leadership. If I would have gone into detail with Erick I was both wasting our time. His mind was clicking when I said what I should do. Jeff if I had not given specific instructions have accepted the lane sanitation needs but probably do other things he thought of his duties.

Knowing your team individually, you can place them in positions to excel. You must challenge them so they can develop more intelligent leaders. Some will need more attention and additional training than others.
