What’s the diff between ‘IN HG’ and “IN HG Abs” in ref to a pressure at inlet of vacuum pump?

The difference in pressure above or below the atmospheric is called a gage pressure. As with most pressure gage readings, a vaccum expressed in inches of Hg would be vacuum gage pressure – that is pressure below the atmospheric. Absolute pressure would include the atmospheric (barometric) pressure at the location of the measurement with the respective gage pressure added or subtracted.
